World Lung Cancer Day is observed annually on August 1st to raise awareness about lung cancer and promote early detection and equitable care.

World Lung Cancer Day 2025 aims to raise global awareness, promote prevention, highlight the power of early detection, and demand equal care for all. It's a powerful call to action because lung cancer is not just a medical issue, it's a human one.

What Happens in a Cancerous Lung?

Lung cancer occurs when abnormal cells grow uncontrollably in the lungs, forming a tumor that damages healthy tissue. These cancerous cells can spread to other parts of the body and impair the lungs' ability to function properly, leading to symptoms like coughing, chest pain, and difficulty breathing.
